On the 22nd of April, the Commission hosted a stakeholder consultation session for the proposed Eswatini’s Spectrum Band Plan at Mountain View International Hotel.
This covered the spectrum allocation and assignment process and how the proposed band plan will impact the management thereof. The event was attended by ESCCOM, the Ministry of ICT, and representatives from all the ISPs, MNOs, and broadcasting licensees.
The attended had an opportunity to table their questions and
comments in relation to the proposed spectrum band plan and other issues
touching on spectrum allocation usage. Some of the comments made were in
relation to the role of the Commission when a service provider uses a spectrum
that hasn’t been allocated to them and interference that comes from other
countries especially Mozambique which comes with language communication
barriers making it hard to resolve any issues there may be.
